A temporary change of venue for Roman Candle Promotions meant that Jerron Blind Boy Paxton appeared in what could be the oldest functioning place of worship on the planet. St John the Baptist church dates back to 973 AD and served as the city cathedral from 1075 until 1102. It most certainly goes down as the oldest venue ever to have obtained a bar license on the night! Fittingly Jerron was in divine form as he took us on a journey through the blues, bluegrass, jazz and folk music of a not so distant past, relatively speaking of course. A talented multi-instrumentalist, Jerron played songs from the early 20th century on guitar, banjo, fiddle and piano and always with a poetic glass of whisky by his side. Support was provided by local singer/songwriter Jon Coley.
