Robyn Hitchcock walked onto the stage in front of a capacity audience in Chester sporting a fine selection of psychedelic songs, stories and shirts. Fittingly the deconsecrated church setting provided the ideal ambience for a few irony twisted numbers about life and death not to mention an extended oratory on the flying skills of his beloved cat Tubby.
It would seem almost inevitable that the support act Jessica Lee Morgan would find herself writing and performing songs given that she is the daughter of singer Mary Hopkin and renowned producer Toni Visconti. The Chester audience turned up early and in foul May weather to boot and were rewarded with a fine collection of her self penned songs.
